Project- Cafe Grove
Objective-Create a logo for a coffee brand
Process-

To do this project, we were required to illustrate a logo for a coffee brand. Though I knew a little about logo creation and was decently experienced in illustration, I quickly developed these skills further. This was an interesting assignment as we got to envision a logo for a brand that was not a strictly corporate service. There are many local and unique coffee shops in the London area, so producing this piece of content felt similar to working with a real coffee shop around the corner.
To start, we researched local coffee shops around the area. Combined with further research of logo design, I came up with an idea of a shop called Cafe Grove. This design was based off a nature theme and was chosen among a group of thumbnails sketched out. In addition to creating a logo, I learned about applying a logo to a package. Package design is a big part of the process when designing this type of logo and I gained a new skill set from this experience.
As the semi comps were selected and revised, i selected colours which i thought represent coffee and nature best. For my logo, I wanted to gear the chosen style to  coffee drinkers who felt connected to a natural and healthy life style. This required soft, yet bright colours to both intrigue and calm the viewer.
While completing this project I was introduced to the Adobe Dimensions. This software allows one to manipulate 3D objects and layout how a design would appear on real materials. Though I had never used the application before, I quickly learned how to use the tools and was excited to apply my design.  Learning these kinds of techniques gave me a sense of having what it takes to explore and succeed in this industry.
