Project- Raven's Brew Craft Beer
Objective-Design a Beer Advertisement
Process-

This was a really engaging project to have the opportunity to design, as I found my particular style emerging more. We were required to create a logo and a label which would suit a beer bottle. And then create an advertisement for that product. As the objective consisted of working with an IPA beer, there was a lot more room to explore.
Primarily I began with exploring different IPA beers concepts. Having been intrigued by many IPA label designs found in stores over the years, I found much inspiration among the many brands present in the store near me. Creating thumbnails was  an enthralling process and I found a lot of ideas that could have potentially worked as proper layouts. Moving on, 3 of the most promising concepts were digitally illustrated in full colour. It was a tough choice but I chose the one that took a more gothic\alternative direction. Translating the design to the bottle label layout was a captivating challenge.  I learned how to develop an alternative design variant which was still cohesive to the theme.
For the advertisement stage of the project, we observed different kinds of ad design. Making a point to take note of tag lines that were thought provoking, we were required to brainstorm 10 different thumbnails. Each idea needed to tell a story or hold some depth relating to the concept. I connected fairly quickly to the idea of enjoying an gothic style beer around the fire while telling ghost stories. With the help of the right photo and font, I was able to create a colour semi-comp of the chosen concept. After some critique and revision of the layout, I implemented the contact information and completed the look.
Finally, I committed to the task of using adobe dimensions to mockup the label on the 3D beer bottle sample. With the finishing touch of using a layer mask in photoshop to create a cold condensation effect, I placed the bottle in the layout accordingly. It was a satisfying moment seeing all working in harmony to create the story I envisioned. I discovered a skill and keen interest in ad design during the process of this piece and am eager to continue developing in this field of design.
